A FASHION & LIFESTYLE BLOG BY KELSEY NU
Golf is becoming a very popular sport! It sucks that people are just NOW getting out , and becoming interested in the game, BUT I say better “LATE” than “NEVER”! 😉
I also feel with the current pandemic of COVID-19, and everything being shut down (on and off), EXCEPT the golf courses! It just basically forced people to try new things, and/ or be outside more! Stating this, I think that it’s showing, and giving people the opportunity to learn and experience the wonderful game of golf, ESPECIALLY women!
Because at the end of the day, we have ALWAYS been social distancing for the most part at Golf Courses!Â
Â
So, today I wanted to take the time to create a “Beginner Golf tips for women Guide” post! I find a lot of women have been picking up the sport because they want to either learn for themselves! OR they want to learn how to play, because their friends and/ or significant others play! Plus, I mean why NOT? Let’s get into learning these tips and tricks!
It is important that before you head to the course, you know dress codes! Once you start playing more often, and visiting more golf courses, you will find that some golf courses have a STRICT dress code, while others do NOT!
There are many places to go shopping for clothing for the golf course such as, Dicks Sporting goods, Ross, Nike, Adidas, Lulumon, ETC. Eventually you will start to develop your style, and my favorite motto to revert to is.. ” When you look good, you feel good, which means you probably will play good too”! This is more of the mental side, as you will soon find out JUST how mental the game is! If you would like tips & tricks for How to prepare for your golf day / golf tournaments CLICK HERE!
PLUS, it just gives us girls another reason to go shopping! 😉
**You can click and shop through some of my outfits that I wear on the course within this post!
I would recommend getting a few swings out there before your lesson, so you can start to learn your swing! From there, you can better answer certain questions that your Golf Teaching professional might ask you!
Depending on where your location is in this world, you can simply do a google search, and find you local golf teaching professional. Then from there, it is all just feel.. Meaning you are basically interviewing them to see simple things like:Â if you both click, or do they understand your goals, are they truly helping you, ETC.
I think this makes learning golf SOOO fun, especially just starting out! I always enjoy meeting new people, and being apart of golf clubs that you either play once a week with, or IF schedule permits, you can easily count on someone to play golf everyday with!Â
I feel developing a friend or two if you do have any in the golf world makes the experience 100 times more enjoyable.
I think it is also beneficial to play golf with both men and women who may be just a tad better than you. From my 15 years of golf experience, I find it really helps you push your self, and who know.. Maybe one day you might just beat them!Â
When it comes to the game you can develop a lot of emotions, because it is such a mental sport. But do NOT let that interfere with you having FUN, and improving your golf game everyday!
It took me ALONG time, just like it probably does others to understand just how much the mental game game is just as important IF not more than the physical. CLICK HERE to see how to conquer your mental golf game! Some LPGA/ PGA tour members still do not have a mental aspect conquered fully, so they usually hire sports Psychologist!
