Mental clarity, and how we choose to start our mornings off are probably things you may take for granted. Whether you work a 9-5 or own your own company, or are a stay at home mom, it is very important to take time to prepare yourself properly. People do not realize how crucial it is to give your self at least 30mins a day to recharge. Now, I will dive into a few options that you can incorporate during your day to help you start on the right foot!
First things first.
The key to having a great day starts before you even step out of bed. It is important that when you wake up, to give yourself roughly 3-5mins of properly waking up before lifting yourself out of bed. It is also equally important that you DO NOT just wake up and face plant on to your phone and check social media or text messages. Studies show that by doing this it is unhealthy for you, as you are not starting your day off with YOURSELF in mind. What I mean by that is, if you wake up an automatically feel the need to check your phone or instagram, you are on some one else’s terms and not your OWN. For example, whether you are liking a photo, or seeing all the messages and phone calls you missed last night, that takes away from YOUR morning time to get YOURSELF ready and mentally prepared. I mean think about it? How much does your phone occupy YOUR time?
Next get out of bed
After we wake up and lay in our bed for roughly 3-5 mins, its time to get up and sit up! Once you sit up in your bed and are about to take that first step to get out of bed,it is important that you still DO NOT mess with your phone. From there going to the restroom, brush your teeth and wash your face, here are some options to mentally help you in the morning and/ or throughout your day to stay positive and as stress free as possible.
Get up early
It is important to get up in a timely manner to where you do not feel rushed. I can tell you from experience how that makes me feel SOO much better in the morning by getting up earlier and giving myself some ME time in the mornings.
Stray as much a way from technology
I find it beneficial and my mornings going more smoother when I do not touch my phone for anything in the mornings. Stating this, I have made a routine that I do not touch it until I have to to leave out the door in the mornings.
Meditating in the morning has also helped me out majorly. It helps me control my breathing and helps me go into my day with a settled mind and confidence. Meditating is GREAT for you not only in mornings, but ANY time you feel the need to.
I work out in the mornings 3-5 times a week, whether I am running or lifting, it just makes me feel 100% better. Plus we all know the quote by one of my favorite movies “Exercise gives you Endorphins, and Endorphins makes you happy”- Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde.
Write and/or Read
I have not personally did this, but I have a few friends who do! They all say they find it beneficial to write or read a book in the morning. Whether they are actually writing a book, or just writing their daily thoughts down, they say that it really helps them positively.
As you can see there is SOO much to not only help you in the mornings but also throughout your day. It is MAJORLY important to just relax and take time for yourself because your health is just as important as anyone else.I hope you learned a few new tactics to tackle your day, and most IMPORTANTLY, I hope you can apply them. Thank you so much for reading! Stay ambitious!
